Spiritual Discernment: Part I.
Dealing with occultism is all demonic and should be avoided. God doesn't want anyone dealing with anything that is occultism, all of it is an abomination to Him. I love You, King Jesus!
I’m starting a new series on how people can have spiritual discernment when it comes to any practices or beliefs which people have that are an abomination to God or which isn’t Biblical. People must stay away from all fortune telling, psychic readings, tarot card readings and all witchcraft including Halloween, they are an abomination to God. Even though God spoke to the Israelites about not dealing with such wicked people in the Old Testament, we are still seeing all of that in the world today. Only God knows what will happen in the future, we find out when we read the Bible for ourselves throughout the book of Revelation. Fortune tellers use the tarot cards thinking they have knowledge outside of the Bible of what people’s futures are going to be like, but they clearly don’t. They will never be able to know what their future will be like. The Bible in the New Testament also talks about the practices of witchcraft, occultism, sorcery and people who go after fortune tellers who will not inherit the kingdom of God. We must turn away from the “Harry Potter” and “Lord of the Rings” books and movies which are all about witchcraft and magic. God loves all of us and He is the only one who knows our future. He doesn’t want any of us to be deceived by demons who feed false information to psychics and divination tools.
Here’s a list of Scripture about these occult practices to stay away from and to have spiritual discernment:
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” - Revelation 21:8.
Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. But he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel. For he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; he raised up altars for the Baals, and made wooden images; and he worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. He also built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “In Jerusalem shall My name be forever.” And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord. Also he caused his sons to pass through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom; he practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft and sorcery, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger. - 2 Chronicles 33:1-6.
“When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not appointed such for you. - Deuteronomy 18:9-14.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. - Ephesians 5:11.
I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no soothsayers. - Micah 5:12.
They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord!’ But the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed. Have you not seen a futile vision, and have you not spoken false divination? You say, ‘The Lord says,’ but I have not spoken.” Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you,” says the Lord God. “My hand will be against the prophets who envision futility and who divine lies; they shall not be in the assembly of My people, nor be written in the record of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord God. - Ezekiel 13:6-9.
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. - Colossians 2:8.
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. - 2 Corinthians 11:13-15.
Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. - Revelation 22:14-15.
In order to be saved from witchcraft, you must repent of your sins, confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay the atonement for your sins when you confess those sins, surrender your whole life to God, be obedient to Him and follow His Commandments. Turn to Jesus Christ today, because tomorrow is never promised at all for anyone. God Bless everyone!
